4 Must-Apply Sponsorship Exams for Merchant Navy in 2024

If you are applying for IMU-CET in 2024 and still looking for sponsorship then this blog is not something you would want to miss, if you are a Merchant Navy aspirant you must know that sponsorship is very important not just for DNS aspirants but for student who wish to join Merchant Navy weather you are applying for Graduate Marine Engineering (GME), Electro Technical Officer (ETO) or GP Rating you must apply for sponsorship exams companies even conduct sponsorship exams for candidates who have already completed their Pre-sea and don’t have placement in hand.

4 Sponsorship Exams you must apply in 2024

1. Maersk

• IMU CET Exam
• AMET Online CET 
• AMET Psychometric Test
• Personal Interview by MAERSK
• Medical Fitness as per DGS Guidelines.

Eligibility for Sponsorship Exams:

• 10+2 pass with minimum 60% Aggregate in Physics, Chemistry, and Maths and at least 60% in English 10th or 12th Std. 
• Age: 17.5 years to 25 years. 

Note: Candidate should be unmarried and should be holding a valid Indian Passport.

2. MSC

Mediterranean Shipping Company is an international shipping line founded in 1970 by Captain Gianluigi Aponte based in Italy. It has its headquarters in Switzerland since 1978. • Register on MSC website and fill the registration form. 
• IMU CET Exam
• MSC written exam
• MSC interview
• Medical Fitness as per DGS Guidelines
• MSC Psychometric.

Eligibility:

• 10+2 with 65% in PCM Aggregate and 50% marks in English in 10th or 12th or at graduation level. Or
• 60% marks in the final year of B.Sc. with physics in any of the years of B.Sc or55% marks in the final year of B.E. or B. Tech. degree
• Age: Min 17 years and max 19 years (10+2 candidates)
• Age: Min 17 years and max 22 years (B.Sc Candidates)

Registration is Open for both male and female candidates.

Note: Candidate should be unmarried and should be holding a valid Indian Passport.

3. Fleet Management

Fleet Management Limited is a company that provides ship management services such as technical management, ship building, marine insurance, maritime training, and crew management to ship owners worldwide. The company was founded in 1994 and has their headquarters in Hong kong. They manage 650 ships and have a group of 24000 seafarers with them.

• IMU-CET 2024
• Written exam of Fleet Management (MCQ test)
• Personal Interview by Fleet Management
• Psychometric test by Fleet Management
• Medical Fitness as per DGS Guidelines.

1st batch for deck cadet selection process for August 2024 DNS batch will be conducted in the month of April/ May 2024.

Eligibility:

• Should have scored min 70% avg PCM in 12th Std (Improvement results will not be considered)
• Should have score min 70% in English in 12th Std (Improvement results will not be considered)
• Candidates who have appeared 12th from Open Board, NIOS board or through Distance learning are not eligible.
• Candidates who have appeared for our exam once are not eligible to re-appear for any further exam conducted by our company.
• Age : 20 yrs. Or less as of 1st July 2024 (Born on or after 1st July 2004)
• Height : For male candidates Min 160 cms. For female candidates Min 150 cms.
• BMI : not more than 25
• No speech Deformity
• Eyesight 6/6 without aid and no colour blindness

4. Synergy

Synergy Marine Group is a largest management company and provides technical support, crew manning and maritime training to the shipowners globally. If you wish to apply for  Synergy Shipping, the admission process is:

• IMU-CET 2024
• Entrance exam of Synergy
• Personal Interview by Synergy
• Medical Examination by DGS approved doctor and Psychometric test
• Document Verification.

Eligibility: 

• Should have scored 60% in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics in Class XII or Equivalent 
• Min 60% Overall Aggregate in Class XII or Equivalent 
• Min 50% marks in English in Class X or XII or Equivalent 
• Should have passed Class XII or Equivalent OR 
• Should be appearing in class XII exam in year 2024
• Age: Min 17 yrs. And Max 24 yrs. 

Important points to Remember

• Time duration will be 3 hours (180 minutes)
• The examination will include 200 MCQs and 100 knowledge based questions and 100 English and aptitude based questions.
• The marking system goes as: 1 mark for every correct answer and negative 0.25 for every incorrect answer.
